Forest Film Club is run by Walthamstow based writer and director Anthony Hett and Leytonstone actor and director Sarah Flanagan with the aim of helping to support and inspire inexperienced and first-time filmmakers. They run filmmaking events and workshops, panel discussions and regular screening events, where they showcase local, national and international short films. They have previously hosted a monthly showcase of local, national and international short films submitted by emerging filmmakers from Leytonstone and beyond and are excited to host their first event since... You know.
As part of the inaugural Leytonstone Loves Film in September 2019, Forest Film Club ran a best-of screening, showcasing eight of the best short films as chosen by the audience from their previous monthly screenings and two workshops on How to Make Short Film on a Zero Budget and How to Make a Short Film on a £3K Budget. They also offered a first-time filmmaker a £500 bursary and ran a film finance panel, where guest speakers gave tips on how to finance short films.
