Film Screening

Avenue Road Moving Stories is a short film that will be screened as part of Solid Ground Community Showcase- you can book your free ticket for that as well as explore all the films being screened here

Avenue Road Moving Stories is the culmination of work undertaken on the Avenue Road Estate and Leytonstone School over the summer of 2021. Working closely with intergenerational members of the community in this close community, Liza Fletcher worked with animator Esther Neslen and the Immersive Storytelling and Virtual Reality students at UCL to produce a documentary into the changes happening in the buildings, communities and ways that people connect in Leytonstone before they change forever.

The 10 minute film includes interviews with residents and community leaders with the animation of young people and a Virtual Reality experience where residents can see themselves and the estate in 360. The film screening will be followed by a short Q&A with some of the contributors to talk about their experience of working on a community film project.
